Indian men’s national volleyball team went down to Qatar in straight sets (22-25, 14-25, 20-25) in their second Pool A match at the 2021 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship at Chiba Port Arena in Japan on Monday.
India has been drawn in Pool A alongside hosts Japan, Bahrain and Qatar. Earlier yesterday, the Indian team was handed their first defeat of the tournament by Bahrain in straight sets. India faced Qatar today to stay in the tournament, but GE Sridharan’s boys once again disappointed. Qatari team ran riots in most of the game and picked up their first victory of the tournament.
India will now face World No.10 Japan on Tuesday. With this loss, India’s quarter-final hopes were all over. In the other match of the group host, Japan picked up their second victory and qualified for the quarterfinals.
