Asian Wrestling Olympic qualification: 14 Indian wrestlers eyeing the Olympic birth

Almaty, Kazakhstan to host final Asian region qualification tournament from April 9 to 11. As far as 36 quotas are available from this tournament. Events to be held in 18 different categories in Freestyle wrestling, women’s wrestling, and Greco-Roman; means wrestlers need to reach at least final to confirm the quota.

As far as the Indian contingent is concerned, 4 wrestlers have already booked their quota through world championships in 2019. WFI announced 14 wrestlers contingent for the remaining categories.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Bajrang Punia, Deepak Punia secured Olympic quota in Men’s freestyle 57kg, 65kg, 86kg respectively, and Vinesh Phogat in women’s 53kg.
