Tokyo Paralympic double medalist Avani Lekhara won gold in 10m AR Standing SH1at the ongoing Chateauroux Para Shooting World Cup with a world record score on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old finished with a total of 250.6 in the final and broke her previous world record of 249.6. Poland’s Emilia Babska (247.6) claimed silver Anna Normann of Sweden took bronze with a total of 225.6.
Earlier, she had finished at the top in the qualifier with 627.7.
Avani also ensured herself a spot at the Paris Paralympics 2024. She has won gold in 10m AR Standing SH1 and a bronze in 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 at the Tokyo Paralympics.
