BWF Indonesia Open: Sindhu enters quarterfinal; Satwiksairaj-Chirag prevail in a nail-biter

Two-time Olympic medalist entered the quarterfinals of the BWF Indonesia Open Super 1000 while Kidambi Srikanth crashed out losing his pre-quarterfinal at the Bali International Convention Center in Bali on Thursday.

Reigning World Champion P V Sindhu registered a comfortable 21-12, 21-18 win over Germany’s Yvonne Li in the pre-quarterfinals. 3rd seeded Sindhu will take on Sim Yujin of Korea in the quarterfinals.

Men’s doubles pair of Chirag Shetty & Satwiksairaj Rankireddy prevailed over Korean pair of Kang Minhyuk & Seo Seungjae in a nail-biting pre-quarter-final. The sixth-seeded Indian duo won 21-15, 19-21, 23-21.

B Sai Praneeth won a thriller against Christo Popov of France. The World No.16 Indian won 21-17, 14-21, 21-19.

However, it was a disappointment for Kidambi Srikanth. The World No. 15 Indian lost to World No.2 Viktor Axelsen of Denmark 14-21, 18-21.
