Cycling: Indian Men’s Sprint Team Qualifies for World Championships

Indian men’s Sprint team creates history by qualifying for the elite Team sprint event at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships for the first time. The Indian Men’s Sprint team,ranked 18th in the world will take part in the 2020 UCI Track Cycling World Championships which will be held in Berlin, Germany from February 26 to March 1, 2020.

This will only be the second time that Indian Track Cyclists have made a cut for the World Championship. Deborah Herold was the first Indian to qualify for the UCI Track Cycling World Championship. She had earned a place in the women’s 500m time trial event in the 2016 World Championship held in London.

India will be represented by Esow Alben, Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam, Jemsh Singh and Rojit Singh, the same team which had clinched gold in the Junior World Championship held last year.
