French Open 2021: PV Sindhu loses short in semi-finals, India’s campaign ends

India’s campaign at the BWF French Open Super 750 came to an end with PV Sindhu’s loss in the semifinals of women’s singles.

World No.7 Sindhu took the first 21-18 and was leading 11-9 in the second but her opponent Sayaka Takahashi made a brilliant comeback to register an emphatic victory. The Japanese took the second set 21-16 to force the match into rubber. And then in the decider, the World No.15 Takahashi lead from the beginning and won 21-12.

Takahashi will face the winner of Akane Yamaguchi and An Se-young in the final tomorrow.
