Prajnesh Gunneswaran finished runner-up at the ATP Cary Challenger on Sunday, losing the final to Denis Kudla of United States.
The fourth-seeded Indian won the first set 6-3 but then was outclassed in the next two 3-6, 0-6 as the second-seeded Kudla claimed the match in three sets.
Prajnesh had advanced to the final after receiving a walkover from Mikael Torpegaard of Denmark in the semifinal. The southpaw had also notched up a couple of substantial victories in the tournament against the likes of former World No.8 Jack Sock and former World No.21 Thomaz Bellucci.
This was the seventh ATP Challenger tour final of his career. He has won two titles and ended as runner up in five tournaments.
