As the logjam between East Bengal and their investors Shree Cement continues, so does the departure of their players and the latest to leave is goalkeeper Shankar Roy.
The 25 year old former Mohammedan SC and Mohun Bagan player is set to join Roundglass Punjab FC for the I-League season.
Sankar joined SC East Bengal after winning I-League with Mohun Bagan but failed to replace veteran Debjit Majumdar and could only make one appearance in the Hero ISL against Jamshedpur FC.

During the January transfer window the Robbie Fowler led team loaned him to Hyderabad FC.
With 22 I-League appearances to his name Sankar Roy will want to secure more playing time and that might be his reason for choosing RG Punjab FC over a couple of ISL sides.
Recently Punjab FC released their Nepalese goalkeeper Kiren Limbu and were looking to secure an Indian goalkeeper for the I-League 2021-22 which is set to kick off in Kolkata later this year.
