Sandesh Jhingan signs for Croatian club

Sandesh Jhingan, India’s first choice centre back and the most recent recipient of the AIFF player of the year, is set to leave for Croatia to play for HNK Sibenik- reports the The Times of India.

Jhingan, who played for ATK Mohun Bagan last season, will hence join the likes of Md Selim, Bhaichung Bhutia, Sunil Chhetri and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu among Indian players who have plied their trade in club football in Europe.

Jhingan signed a 5 year contract with ATKMB last season but the papers have a clause that allows him to leave in case of an offer from Europe.

Jhingan’s agent Anuj Kichlu told TOI- ” We have agreed terms with HNK Sibenik. We will now try to get Jhingan to Croatia as soon as possible”.
