Shooters Apurvi Chandela, Divyansh Singh Panwar win gold in Meyton Cup

Apurvi Chandela and Divyansh clinched gold in Meyton cup; Deepak Kumar and Anjum Moudgil bagged a bronze.

With Olympic spot already secured in both the 10m rifle events, Apurvi Chandela and Divyansh kept the momentum to win gold in Women’s and Men’s 10m air rifle event in Meyton Cup International Shooting Championship, a private tournament in Innsbruck, Austria.

In the Women’s event, Apurvi Chandela shot her best score in qualifications with 630.1 points and eventually got the gold medal with 251.4 points, as she edged last Seonaid Mcintosh by a margin of 0.2 points in a close encounter. Anjum Moudgil who finished with an identical score as Apurvi in the qualifications settled for a bronze in the final with a score of 229 points.

In the Men’s event, the no.1 shooter in 10m Air Rifle, Divyansh Panwar clinched gold with a score of 249.7, he beat Dane Sampson of Australia by 0.7 points in the final. The other Indian, Deepak Kumar who finished 1st in the qualifications(629.4) and eventually settled for a bronze in the final with 228.3 points.

This is Indian shooter’s first event since ISSF World Cup finals.
