South Africa announces T20 World Cup squad, three big names miss out

South Africa have announced the 15 man squad that will take part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 to be held in Oman & UAE form 17 October to 14 November. Veteran trio of Faf du Plessis, Chris Morris and Imran Tahir will not feature for the proteas in the upcoming world cup. Temba Bavuma, who is expected to recover from a thumb injury, has been named as the skipper. Bavuma will hope to lead considerably inexperienced South African squad to the nation’s first major title since 1998.

Team – Temba Bavuma, Quinton De Kock, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klassen, David Miller, Reeza Hendricks, Rassie Van der Dussen, Wiaan Mulder, Dwaine Pretorious, Bjorn Fortuin, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje.
