Vishesh Bhriguvanshi to lead Indian team for FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers


The FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers will resume next week. The Indian team is scheduled to face Lebanon on November 27 and Bahrain on November 29. The matches will take place in Manama, Bahrain.

The Indian team will be led by experienced Vishesh Bhriguvanshi. NBA G-league forward Princepal Singh is also a part of the 12-man squad.

The India hoopsters are currently ranked third out of the four teams in Group D with a win and a loss so far. The fourth team in the group is Iraq. The top two teams from this group will directly qualify for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021. The third-ranked team will play round 2 of the qualifiers alongside third-placed teams of five other groups while the fourth-place team will get eliminated.

Vishesh Bhirguvanshi (C), Muin Bek Hafeez, Prasanna Venkatesh, Princepal Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Amjyot Singh, Prashant Singh, Sahaj Patel, Sahaij Pratap Singh Sekhon, Anil Kumar Gowda, Sejin Mathew, Sharad Dadich.
